All companies offering investment services are eligible to enter the City of London Wealth Management Awards. There are both Company and Individual Award categories to enter and as usual, there are no charges involved in entering the Awards.

Winners are determined by an online poll, taking place from 10:00 on 25th January to 16:00 on 15th February 2023. All voters are entered into a free prize draw to win Magnum of Champagne. In 2022, over 45,000 votes were cast.

Offering the best online portal for trading CFD's with an increase in new clients through 2022.

Delivering comprehensive discretionary services which provided protections as far as was possible, against the array of market challenges in 2022.

  • Diversity and Inclusion Initiative

A company which made a conscious effort for senior management and staff to embrace these aspects as work and in their marketing material.

  • ESG Investment Strategy 

A company which made a conscious effort to deliver investment products and /or services which embraced ESG.

  • Execution-Only Stockbroking

Delivering first rate dealing only services both online and on the phone.

  • Family Office of the Year

A specialist firm offering all aspects necessary from a Family Office, endorsed by a client (anonymously).

  • Fund

A fund which outperformed a sector or addresses specific needs.

  • FX Service Provider

Best rates delivered online and, on the phone.

  • IFA of the Year

Financial adviser showing either a marked increase in clients or demonstrating exceptional service performance.

  • ISA Provider

Best service based on charging structure, dealing services and client reporting.

  • Market Newsletter

Information output of real interest to clients rather than self-promotion.

  • Online/Mobile Access

Based on the level of functionality on all platforms and minimal outages.

  • Private Bank

Levels of service provided, endorsed by a client (anonymously).

  • Regional Wealth Manager of The Year: Central & Eastern England

2023 Individual Awards

An individual empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different, in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education, and national origin.

  • Best Industry Commentator

An individual who provides commentary on issues relevant to the investment sector on a neutral basis, i.e. not setting out to promote hers/his companies' products and services or media publications.

  • Discretionary Portfolio Manager of the Year

Someone who has navigated through all the challenges during 2022 to provide premium quality advice on investments to their (and the company's) clients.

  • Exceptional Customer Service 

Someone who has practically demonstrated going 'above and beyond' in respect of excellence in looking after clients.

  • Financial Journalist of the Year

An individual who regularly provides media commentary on market activity, corporate issues impacting listed companies, the economy etc.

  • IFA of the Year

Financial Adviser who has provided service excellence in 2022, endorsed by a client (anonymously).

  • Investment Analyst

Individual respected by the industry for the quality of analysis in any market sector.

  • Mudlark Award for Exceptional Performance in the Back Office

The award for the 'unsung heroes' within investment firms who work behind the scenes to ensure back-office operations work smoothly and efficiently.

  • Outstanding Individual Award

An award to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution either to their firm, to a client or to the financial services industry in 2022.

  • Pension Fund Manager

An individual who has successfully navigated the challenges facing pensions during 2022.

  • Rising star (Female)

Anyone within an investment firm who has performed well during 2022 and who the nominee believes will aspire to become a senior exec.

  • Rising star (Male)

Anyone within an investment firm who has performed well during 2022 and who the nominee believes will aspire to become a senior exec.

  • Wealth Management CEO of the Year (Female)

Awarded to an individual who has supported clients during 2022 in an exceptional and successful manner.

  • Wealth Management CEO of the Year (Male) 

Awarded to an individual who has supported clients during 2022 in an exceptional and successful manner.

  • Wealth Manager of the Year (Female)  

Awarded to someone who has provided exceptional services to clients during 2022, not simply through portfolio management but in comprehensive support and going 'above and beyond'.

  • Wealth Manager of the Year (Male) 

Awarded to someone who has provided exceptional services to clients during 2022, not simply through portfolio management but in comprehensive support and going 'above and beyond'.

Votes will be scrutinised by an independent panel of judges and a process is in place to prevent duplicated voting. To ensure a level playing field, the total of votes will be scaled according to the size of each company.

Award winners will be announced on 7th March 2023 at The Guildhall.
